Details:

SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde is organising its 45th Gala Concert with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg (OPL) at the Philharmonie on Thursday 2 December 2021 at 20:00.

After a particularly difficult year 2020, during which there was no Gala Concert, this year's anniversary concert will bring together the OPL, under the direction of Venezuelan conductor Rafael Payare, and Jonathan Fournel, a young French pianist from the Moselle and the 2021 laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition.

Jonathan Fournel has chosen to perform Piano Concerto No. 18 by Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a work he performed in the semi-finals of the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition. The evening will continue with An Alpine Symphony by German composer Richard Strauss.

The profits from this solidarity evening, traditionally organised in collaboration with EY, will be donated to an emergency aid programme supported by SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde in Colombia for Venezuelan migrant children, who are unaccompanied or separated from their parents.

The evening is being organised under the CovidCheck regime.

Tickets cost €30 / €45 / €65 and can be reserved via tel.: 263-22632 or via email: tickets@philharmonie.lu. Further information is available at www.philharmonie.lu.
