CFL Overtakes POST as Luxembourg's Largest Employer

In its latest report ranking major employers by size, Luxembourg's statistics agency Statec has revealed that national railway company, the CFL Group, gained the top spot as the largest employer in the Grand Duchy as of 1 January 2022, overtaking POST Group for the first time since 2012.

POST Luxembourg remained the largest employer in the Grand Duchy as of 1 January 2022.

Statec has just published its list of Luxembourg's main employers according to the workforce at the start of the year, broken down by size and economic activity branch. The list is drawn up on the basis of a non-compulsory annual survey of companies and groups of companies located in the Grand Duchy and employing at least 90 people as of 1 January 2022. It covers activities in industry, construction, trade and most service activities.

The CFL Group employed the most people (4,710) in Luxembourg over the past year; this represents a strong inrease from the previous year when CFL Group employed 4,580 people.

In second place, POST Group, hired 4,540 people (down from 4,620 in 2021), followed closely behind by Cactus Group which counted 4,440 employees (down from 4,460).
