Luxembourg's Ministry for Digitalisation and ErwuesseBildung asbl have joined forces to provide four training courses in digital skills to organisations working in the social field.
At the beginning of February 2021, Luxembourg's Minister Delegate for Digitalisation, Marc Hansen, and representatives of ErwuesseBildung, Pit Peporté and José da Costa, signed a provision of services agreement relating to training for adults.
Through this agreement, organisations working in the social field will be able to benefit free of charge from the provision of four training courses in digital skills developed by ErwuesseBildung. In addition, the non-profit organisation has undertaken to prepare trainers within the organisations concerned so that they can in turn provide this training. As a result, access to digital skills is expected to be broadened and organisations can be more independent in the organisation of training for their members.
The agreement thus marks the signatories' desire to expand the training offer to contribute to the digital inclusion of all members of society. Organisations which intend to take advantage of this free provision of educational content or which are interested in training for trainers, are invited to contact ErwuesseBildung directly for information and to make a request.
The training courses are as follows:
- a revised and updated "Internetführerschein 1.0" (internet driving licence) for digital beginners
- an "Internetführerschein 2.0" intended for an experienced public who seek advanced training
- a preparation module for e-banking to prepare for the public use of online banking services
- a “Train the trainers” training course intended for independent trainers or trainers from interested organisations.
The e-banking preparation module is developed as part of a project initiated by the Ministry of Consumer Protection, in collaboration with the Financial Sector Supervisory Commission (Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier - CSSF) and the Fondation ABBL pour l'éducation financière (foundation for financial education).
By signing this agreement, the Ministry of Digitalisation has confirmed its commitment to supporting actions relating to digital inclusion, one of the strategic axes of the ministry. Minister Marc Hansen noted: “For a successful digital transition of society, it is vital to give all the necessary skills to interact and use digital tools in a conscious and fully informed manner. The government has pledged not to leave anyone by the wayside. This convention is a constitutive element of the efforts to be made to achieve this".
