Luxembourg’s Ministry for Higher Education and Research has announced that the 37th edition of the Student Fair, co-organised with the Association of Luxembourg Student Circles (ACEL), took place for the second time on the Belval campus of the University of Luxembourg on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 October 2023 and drew around 6,000 visitors.

The event focused on direct exchange in a university environment and was particularly aimed at final-year students and their parents. According to the organisers, this year’s event matched last year's success.

Around 120 exhibitors, including more than 60 national and international higher education institutions, 40 student circles and associations and various embassies were present for the occasion and aimed to inform the numerous visitors about study opportunities in fifteen countries. Representatives of the ministry completed the offer by providing information on studies and state financial aid at their stands. Additionally, interested individuals could attend a series of conferences on professions in the fields of teaching, health and public service. Furthermore, various interactive webinars were offered to students.

The Student Fair is an important event for every future student in Luxembourg. Therefore, I am delighted to see the persistent interest aroused by this event and to note that there is a strong demand from visitors, who come to obtain targeted information from the numerous exhibitors,” highlighted Claude Meisch, Luxembourg’s Minister of Higher Education and Research, during his visit to the Student Fair. “I also welcome the hybrid form of the fair, which, in addition to offering a direct face-to-face exchange, also offers future students the opportunity to obtain information virtually well beyond the two days in Belval, thus allowing them a deeper reflection on their future path.

Since 18 October 2023, final-year students and any interested members of the public have also had the opportunity to find out, via a digital platform, both about higher education and student life and about the world of work and career prospects. Asynchronous exchange was made possible with some 90 additional “virtual” exhibitors via this platform.

Note that the Student Fair platform, available at www.studentefoire.lu, will remain accessible until the end of the Christmas holidays, namely until 5 January 2024 at 18:00. Until this date, all the exhibitors’ stands and their documentation can be freely consulted while all conferences and webinars are available in replay version.
