Geraldine Cassells, UCD Luxembourg Alumni Chapter representative;

Ireland's University College Dublin (UCD) has formed a Luxembourg Alumni Chapter and is holding its first in-person gathering on Saturday 3 June 2023 at Eirelux, the Irish Pub in Howald (40 Rue des Bruyères) at 12:00, over a lunch which will be an opportunity to relax and chat with fellow UCD graduates.

The event is being hosted by local chapter representative, Geraldine Cassells; it will provide an occasion to connect with classmates and friends, old and new.

All UCD Alumni members are welcome to join the event for networking and socialising, whether one is a new arrival to Luxembourg, "fresh off the boat" and keen to carve out a career for oneself, or an arrival from the last century, totally integrated into this dynamic, multicultural and multilingual country at the heart of Europe.

There is no charge to attend. However, registration is necessary via Google Forms.

The chapter's aim is to provide a friendly welcome and opportunity to network and share experiences, as well as to guide newcomers in the right direction and make them feel at home. The Luxembourg chapter looks forward to creating a vibrant space for all members to use as a networking platform to reach fellow alumni across all markets, sectors and walks of life.

UCD is Ireland's largest university and is one of Europe's leading research-intensive universities; an environment where undergraduate education, masters and PhD training, research, innovation and community engagement form a dynamic spectrum of activity. The international standing of UCD has grown in recent years; it is currently ranked within the top 1% of higher education institutions worldwide. UCD is also reported to be Ireland's most globally engaged university with over 38,000 students drawn from 152 countries, including over 5,000 students based at locations outside of Ireland.

Geraldine Cassells explained: "I look forward to welcoming many of my fellow UCD alumni to this relaxed event, where we can forge new connections and hear ideas on how best we can develop this chapter."
