Luxembourg's Ministry of Higher Education and Research has announced that three Auguste van Werveke-Hanno Foundation Scholarships for Architecture and Fine Arts Students have been awarded in the Grand Duchy.

Two fine arts students and one architecture student are the lucky winners of the Auguste van Werveke-Hanno Foundation Scholarships for the 2020/2021 academic year. The scholarship award ceremony was held on Friday 5 March 2021 on the premises of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, in the presence of Minister Claude Meisch and in compliance with current COVID-19 restrictions.

The Auguste van Werveke-Hanno Foundation was founded in 2002 under the terms of the will of the late Anita van Werveke, in memory of her father, Auguste van Werveke-Hanno, professor of drawing at the École d'artisans de l’État.

Scholarships are awarded to Luxembourg students pursuing graduate studies in architecture or fine arts who are at least in their second year of study. Selection is on a case-by-case basis, with scholarships awarded based on academic merit, study progress and candidates' success in extracurricular projects related to their field of study.

Since 2003, a total of 60 students have received scholarships from the van Werveke-Hanno Foundation, for a total of €254,000. For the current academic year, three new scholarships of €5,000 each have been awarded to Catherine Arend, a master's student in architecture, Georgina Henry, a bachelor's degree in graphics, and Rachel Hoffmann, a design student master.
