Miami University’s John E. Dolibois European Center in Differdange is participating in Stoic Week 2017.
Brian Domino, professor of philosophy, will host two discussions on 17 October. The first, from 17:00-18:00, will focus on Stoicism and school work. The second, from 19:00-20:00, on Stoicism and work more generally. A reception will follow the second discussion.
In keeping with the spirit of the week, the events presuppose no familiarity with the Stoics and focus on the practical application of their thinking to the topic of work, although the organisers will welcome questions about living a Stoic life more generally. These events will very much be roundtable discussions, and not lectures.
This event is free and open to the public. Although not required, those planning to attend are asked to inform the organisers

About Stoic Week
Stoic Week began in 2012 at Exeter University, as an opportunity for students studying Roman philosophy to live like a Stoic for a week. The programme garnered unexpected media attention, and 150 people ended up participating. Over the next five years, the week continued to grow in popularity. At present, nearly 3,400 people have already registered to participate. Over a dozen organizations on four continents hold parallel events.
This year, Stoic Week is the week of 16 October.
