Luxair and the ULAV travel agencies' union have launched a joint appeal to the Luxembourg authorities to ease entry restrictions for children to the Grand Duchy.

In a joint statement, Luxair and ULAV lamented that while an increasing number of European countries are easing restrictions for children entering their territory, the obligation to test all children over the age of six travelling to Luxembourg by air remains in place until 15 July 2021 at the earliest.

The two parties have asked that the authorities ease restrictions for minors accompanying their fully vaccinated parents, arguing that the obligation to be tested represents a barrier to travel, not only in terms of organisation for families but also in terms of additional costs.

They also recalled that these obligations do not apply to those travelling to Luxembourg by land. In order not to further penalise those travelling by aeroplane and tourism professionals, Luxair and ULAV have called on the Luxembourg authorities to work towards a homogenisation of the rules and to raise the age limit for carrying out tests from six to fourteen years for children accompanied by their parents.
