United Instruments of Lucilin has announced the nineteenth edition of its Lucilin in the City concerts will take place on Wednesday 22 April 2026, at Cercle Cité in Luxembourg-Ville.
United Instruments of Lucilin describe the concerts as creative laboratories designed to explore and make today's music resonate in different locations in the city.
For Lucilin in the City #19 - Mathémusiques, the ensemble will explore the ideas of Tom Johnson (1939-2024), a Franco-American minimalist composer, whose music, nourished by mathematical structures, combines formal rigor, playful clarity and didactic poetry.
United Instruments of Lucilin describes the concert as “an invitation to follow the logic of sound and to discover, step by step, the beauty of numbers and abstraction”.
The event will feature a presentation (in English) by composer and writer Samuel Vrieze. The performance will feature André Pons-Valdès (violin), Olivier Sliepen (saxophone), Pascal Meyer (piano) and Guy Frisch (percussion).
Tickets cost €10 (€5 for students) and are available at https://ticket.luxembourg-ticket.lu/eventim.webshop/webticket/bestseatselect?eventId=40153.
