From Saturday 21 to Wednesday 25 November 2026, Luxembourg will once again host one of the world's largest gastronomic events: Expogast and the RAK Porcelain Culinary World Cup.
Organised by Luxexpo The Box and Vatel Luxembourg, Expogast and the Culinary World Cup - sponsored this year by RAK Porcelain - will return for a fifteenth edition.
Every four years, Expogast and the Culinary World Cup bring together the entire gastronomy and hospitality sector to celebrate the culinary arts in all their forms. As a trade fair, a public event and a venue for "world-class" competitions, Expogast "stands out as a unique experience at the crossroads of cultures, trends and expertise," according to the organisers.
More than 200 exhibitors will present their products and innovations, making Expogast a key event in the Greater Region and a strategic meeting place for international professionals, with exhibition spaces currently being marketed.
At the heart of the event, one of the world’s largest culinary championships, the RAK Porcelain Culinary World Cup will bring together more than 85 teams from 74 countries. A total of 2,800 chefs will take part in the various events, competing to win the Culinary World Cup.
The competition schedule has now been finalised following the team draw. Each day, eleven kitchens will host the national and junior national teams, whilst three kitchens will be dedicated to "Gastronomic Catering" at lunchtime.
This setup will allow visitors to follow the performances of some of the most talented chefs from five continents up close, observe their technical skill and creativity through glass partitions and experience "culinary excellence" live.
The participating teams provide a high-profile platform for national talent and a unique opportunity for the public to support them. Luxembourg will be represented by a dedicated team in the "Gastronomic Catering" category.
Expogast and the RAK Porcelain Culinary World Cup "offer an immersive experience at the heart of haute cuisine", the organisers added. The "Restaurant des Nations" will welcome over 750 guests every evening. Visitors will be able to sample the creations of the competing teams, enjoying a rare opportunity to get close to the chefs and their world. Throughout the event, the kitchens will provide a live spectacle where precision, creativity and technical mastery unfold before the public's eyes.
Beyond competition and exhibition, Expogast represents a forum for reflection and innovation on the major transformations taking place in the sector, the organisers noted.
Among the topics covered are:
- rethinking the customer experience and business models;
- supporting the transition towards a more sustainable gastronomy;
- promoting culinary heritage and expertise;
- enhancing the appeal of the sector and developing skills;
- highlighting the food of the future through emerging trends.
Expogast has thus become a "genuine forum for exchange, at the crossroads of gastronomy, the hospitality industry and tourism".
The success of Expogast and the Culinary World Cup is the result of collective effort. The event has brought together thousands of stakeholders - chefs, competitors, international judges, partners, volunteers and institutions - around a shared ambition, edition after edition since 1972.
As a long-standing partner and founding member, La Provençale will occupy an entire hall designed as a space for experiences and discoveries, showcasing products, innovations and expertise. The HORESCA Federation and the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce are renewing their support and will help to promote the key players, talent and professions within Luxembourg's HoReCa (hospitality) sector, as well as related training programmes.
The École d’Hôtellerie et de Tourisme du Luxembourg (EHTL) will mobilise its facilities, staff and 550 students, who are volunteering to help organise and run the event. Students from the Bouneweger Lycée (BLL) will also take part in this initiative.
To illustrate the scale of the event, the organisers provided some figures: more than 20,000 dishes prepared, 150 international journalists in attendance and tens of thousands of visitors expected over five days.
"Expogast embodies a strong collective spirit. The event showcases talent, fosters dialogue and helps to raise the profile of an entire sector far beyond our borders. At Luxexpo The Box, we are proud to provide the setting in which this ambition can be fully realised," stated Pascal Bertaux, Chief Sales Officer at Luxexpo The Box.
"This fifteenth edition will be a true celebration of gastronomy. It will bring together professionals, inspire young talent and actively contribute to the sector’s momentum," added Alain Hostert, Vice-President of Vatel Luxembourg.
