The Sportunity asbl, a Luxembourg-based NGO that fosters social inclusion through sport and wellbeing, has announced Playscape, an open‑air celebration of sport, community and connection, which will take place at the Parc Central du Kirchberg from 15:00 to 18:00 on Saturday 2 August 2025.
According to the organisers, the event “will come alive with a diverse range of free sports activities - from football and Zumba to Pilates and high-intensity training (HIIT) - welcoming participants of all backgrounds and abilities.”
In addition to the sports activities, the event will also highlight Sportunity’s regular programmes for displaced people in Luxembourg, many of which take place in refugee shelters. It aims to offer the wider public an opportunity to take part in these activities in an open setting.
“For over a decade, Sportunity has been delivering sports programs to refugees and displaced communities - often out of sight, but never out of heart,” said Eryn Zander, Founder and President of Sportunity asbl. “Playscape is our way of stepping into the public space with joy and intention - bringing people together through movement, and giving back to a community that has supported us throughout the years.”
According to Sportunity, while the main activities will target adults, a dedicated area will be set up for young children, featuring creative play and hands-on activities to allow families to take part together. Small prizes are expected to be awarded to the most active participants.
