On Monday 21 July 2025, the National Youth Service (Service National de la Jeunesse - SNJ) reported on the official opening of the 5th edition of the Cabin Festival in the Édouard André Municipal Park, in Luxembourg City.

The open-air exhibition, created by the SNJ, in partnership with the Order of Architects and Consulting Engineers (OAI) and Luxembourg Urban Garden ASBL (LUGA), was opened in the presence of Luxembourg’s Minister of Education, Children and Youth, Claude Meisch, on Friday 18 July 2025.

The festival showcases eleven temporary cabins designed by around 60 young people aged between twelve and 26. Each was built as part of a competition which took place during an intensive three-day construction camp held from Wednesday 16 July to Friday 18 July.

The main objective of the competition was to bring together young people from different backgrounds around a common project, providing them with the opportunity to express themselves creatively and gain new experiences. The event aims to raise awareness among young people about sustainable construction, promote artisanal trades and introduce them to the professions of architect and consulting engineer. For this edition, inspiration was taken from LUGA’s theme “Making the Invisible Visible”.

The cabins are open to the public until Sunday 3 August 2025. On weekends, there will be hands-on workshops for children and families, which are designed to encourage exploration, discovery and creativity.
