
The Embassy of Japan in Luxembourg has announced it will present three Ikebana (Japanese traditional flower arrangement) introduction and demonstration events, by three different ikebana teachers active in Luxembourg.
According to the embassy, the events will feature a live demonstration and lecture on Ikebana, the different ikebana schools and styles and will provide an insight into the history and culture of this traditional Japanese art.
The first lecture and demonstration will take place on Tuesday 24 June 2025 from 19:00 to 20:00 at the Centre Culturel Cents (167 Rue de Trèves, Luxembourg-Cents). Ms Sanae Kagamida (Sogetsu School) will guide the event, which will be in French.
The second will take place on Saturday 28 June 2025 from 14:00 to 15:00 at the Culture Space, Embassy of Japan (62 Avenue de la Faïencerie, Luxembourg-Limpertsberg). Ms Yuka Sasaki (Sogetsu School) will guide the event, which will be in English.
The third will take place on Thursday 17 July 2025 from 19:00 to 20:00 at the Culture Space, Embassy of Japan (62 Avenue de la Faïencerie, Luxembourg-Limpertsberg). Ms Tomoko Sempo Yanagi (Ikenobo School) will guide the event, which will be in English.
The embassy noted that these events are lectures with a live demonstration by a master and not workshops involving participation.
