The City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) has announced that the 2025 edition of the “Nopeschfest” (“Fête des Voisins” or Neighbours Day) will take place in the capital from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 May 2025.
As part of this initiative, the VdL will provide benches, tables, rubbish bins and promotional materials to residents who wish to organise a neighbourhood gathering. On an ad hoc basis and where feasible, the VdL may also temporarily close certain sections of streets to create additional space for these events.
Residents who wish to organise a “Nopeschfest” on a different date – up to and including the weekend of 11 to 13 July 2025 – may also receive promotional materials from the VdL.
Promotional materials, including invitation cards, posters and banners (to be returned afterwards), as well as information on other VdL-organised activities, will be distributed while supplies last. The VdL Special Needs Department (13 Rue Notre-Dame, L-2240 Luxembourg) will distribute such material from Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 17:00, until Friday 11 July 2025. The VdL recalled that anyone wishing to organise a "Nopeschfest" in a public park or school playground must submit a request for prior authorisation to the competent services.
