The Rosport Mompach Tourist Board have announced that the third edition of the Rosport Wine Festival will take place on Friday 9 May 2025, in the Town Hall Park in Rosport (9 Rue Tudor) from 11:30 until 18:00.
The event will give visitors the opportunity to taste wines from the limited production of the Sûre Valley. As the festival coincides with Europe Day, winegrowers from the German side of the Sûre Valley will also participate in the event for the first time.
Wine growing and selling have a long tradition on both sides of the Sûre Valley and vine cultivation been practised in Rosport for many years. In recent times, there has been renewed interest in producing quality wines in the Sûre Valley. Local wine producers, FRU by Georges Schiltz (&Tudorsgeeschter), Maison Viticole Roeder, Ramborn Cider & Co, Vins René Krippes, the winemakers Weingut Bernhard Bauer and Weingut Johannishof from Mesenich-Langsur (Germany), as well as the wine merchant Wengler Châteaux et Domaines, will present their products for tasting.
The wine tasting costs €10/person which includes a tasting glass.
At around 12:00, a ceremony will be held to mark Europe Day. The wine festival will also have a programme of accompanying activities, including a guided hike through the Hëlt area, the limestone region from which many of the wines offered for tasting originate, and an open house at the Tudor Museum with children's entertainment. Local producers and associations will offer drinks (including non-alcoholic and coffee) and food. The Moselle Valley Brass Band, Musel Valley, and Lungo & Mill will provide musical accompaniment from 13:00.
The hike of the Hëlt site will begin from Kiosque Parc de la Sûre, (33 Rue du Barrage) at 10:30. Registration is required via email: campingrosport@pt.lu or tel: 730 160.
The festival is organised by the Tourist Information and Tourism Office of the Municipality of Rosport Mompach with the support of the Municipality of Rosport Mompach, the Tudor Museum, and the Mëllerdall Nature Park & Geopark.
