The organisers of the Marionette Festival have confirmed that its 10th edition in 2025 is to be held around Whit weekend, from Sunday 8 to Tuesday 10 June in Tadler (in the municipality of Esch-sur-Sûre).

For three days, this village in the Haute-Sûre Natural Park will be transformed into a veritable open-air theatre, dedicated to the arts of puppetry and contemporary theatre. A rich, bold and accessible programme for all with more than 90 performances involving eighteen national and international companies and artists, thirteen unusual venues and 120 volunteers. The programme explores a wide range of styles and approaches, offering the public an immersion in these disciplines through various themes, specially designed for family audiences, encouraging inter-generational participation. Barns, local residents' garages and the village church will be transformed into unusual stages to host the performances.

According to the organisers, this bold choice to break free from conventional theatrical venues reflects the festival's unique identity, which prioritises conviviality and intimacy, creating a unique connection between the artists, the spectators and the rural setting.

The 2023 event attracted almost 3,000 attendees.

The Sunday and Monday are for public performances, with school performances on the Tuesday.
