The third edition of the Luxembourg International Dragon Boat Festival will take place on the River Moselle in Remich on Sunday 15 June 2025 from 10:00 to 20:30.

The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the most important traditional festivals in China and features on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It is regarded not only as a festival where Chinese nationals living overseas can come together but also represents an opportunity to showcase China's cultural wealth to the international community.

This year's Dragon Boat Competition will invite Chinese nationals living in Luxembourg to participate in the boat race. Teams from local companies, universities and governmental organisations in Luxembourg will also compete.

The event, organised by the China Cultural Center in Luxembourg (CCCL) and the Euro-Asie Schengen International Group, will feature an art troupe from Hubei, China, who will present folk music, dance and kung fu performances. There will also be a variety of booths selling rice dumplings, handicrafts and performing tea ceremonies, as well as specialty Chinese and Western food trucks offering a range of food and drinks. The event will close with a musical event and barbecue party.

The Drachenboot Club of Germany will organise and oversee the security of the race.

Entry to the festival is free.
