The Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) has announced that it is organising an "Easter Safari" for families between Saturday 12 and Sunday 20 April 2025 in Luxembourg City.
As the first rays of sunshine awaken spring, the capital is transforming into a veritable adventure playground for children: over the nine-day period, the LCTO is inviting all explorers, young and old, to take part in the Easter Safari – an urban tour filled with magic, hidden animals and a very special Easter secret.
What at first glance seems like a simple guided tour quickly turns into a thrilling adventure in the heart of the Old Town. Accompanied by an experienced guide, children aged 4 to 12 years, along with their families, spend two hours exploring the city streets in search of the animals of the "urban jungle," hidden among the facades, fountains and walls. Here a lion, there a lizard – and if you look closely, you might even spot a unicorn.
But a very special mission also awaits the young adventurers: during this Easter season, they will have to find a small traditional Luxembourgish animal – the "Péckvillchen." This handmade terracotta bird-shaped whistle has a long history and is deeply rooted in Luxembourgish culture. Several of these adorable birds are hidden along the trail. Those who spot them will not only discover the city, but also a part of its traditions.
The Easter Safari is offered in several languages to allow as many visitors as possible to embark on the adventure together:
• Luxembourgish: Sat 12, Sat 19, Sun 20 April at 14:30
• German: Tue 15 April at 14:00
• French: Sat 12 April at 15:00 and Thu 17 April at 14:30
• English: Sun 13 April at 14:00 and Sat 19 April at 15:00
Tickets (adults €18: Children 4-12 years €9) are now available at https://www.luxembourg-city.com/en and at the LCTO information desk (Place Guillaume II). The number of places is limited – each tour is open to a maximum of 20 participants.
