On Tuesday 18 March 2025, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) launched a new initiative entitled "Luxembourg Welcomers”, which aims to offer visitors to the city a unique experience upon arrival.
LCTO has claimed that its "Luxembourg Welcomers" programme is set to redefine the art of hospitality in the capital of the Grand Duchy by offering visitors a unique experience from the moment they arrive, stating: “Whether at the airport, a hotel or a conference, ‘Luxembourg Welcomers’ will be on hand to greet travellers with a smile and guide them through the city with their valuable insider tips.”
Described by the LCTO as “the first point of contact for visitors”, the “Welcomers” will be deployed at strategic locations throughout the city: in hotels, they will provide recommendations and city maps; at conferences and events, they will direct participants and distribute informational materials; at the airport and train station, they will greet travellers upon arrival and provide essential information about the city.
The LCTO announced that “Welcomers” will also represent Luxembourg as a destination at international travel trade shows, encouraging visitors from around the world to discover the capital and that they will also contribute to the LCTO’s various offerings, such as guided city tours, casemate tours and other unique cultural experiences.
The "Luxembourg Welcomers" service is available exclusively through the LCTO and must be booked at least ten business days in advance by sending a request by email to welcomers@lcto.lu. The LCTO has advised that last-minute requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
“Welcomers” will be available from Monday to Saturday (10:00 until 18:00) and on Sundays (12:00 until 16:00). Each booking can last up to eight hours (excluding Sundays). A "Flex" option is available, which will allow the “Welcomer” to wait up to two hours after the agreed meeting time, should any travel delays occur.
The LCTO described the programme as “an investment in the future of tourism in Luxembourg City” and said that it “represents a decisive step towards improving the quality of tourism in the capital”.
