The three-time Grammy Award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir is set to return to the Centre des Arts Pluriels Ettelbruck (CAPE) on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 November 2024, performing on both days at 20:00.

As reported by CAPE, the Soweto Gospel Choir will bring with them a glimmer of hope- "Hope" is the name of their new concert, which pays tribute to the freedom movement in South Africa and the civil rights movement in the United States. Designed to bring joy to all, it opens with South African freedom songs that inspired the "rainbow nation". The choir will then transport audiences to the United States with "magnificent" interpretations evoking the struggles for civil rights, such as songs by the legendary Billie Holiday, James Brown, Otis Redding, Curtis Mayfield and Aretha Franklin.

The South African gospel group has performed in front of audiences around the world, showcasing its "striking rhythms, rich vocal harmonies and magnificent costumes".

The multilingual concert is just under two hours long.

Tickets cost €36 (normal), €18 (youth) or €1.50 (Kulturpass).
