The 2023 edition of the Schueberfouer is set to take place on the Glacis car-park in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg from Wednesday 23 August to Monday 11 September 2023.
The details were announced at a press conference on Thursday 17 August 2023 held by Luxembourg city Mayor Lydie Polfer together with Aldermen Patrick Goldschmidt and Serge Wilmes.
Held since 1340 when it was founded by John the Blind, the Schueberfouer is the Greater Region's largest funfair, regularly attracting more than one million visitors. It is spread over 4.44 hectares, with access via eight separate entrances/exits.
The 20-day event will be formally opened on Wednesday 23 August at 17:00 by the Mayor of Luxembourg city, Lydie Polfer, with opening times thereafter from 12:00 - 01:00 daily (catering establishments open until 23:00).
A total of 211 establishments will participate this year, of which 37.9% are by Luxembourgish operators, 27.5% by French, 22.3% by German, 10.4% by Belgian, 1.4% by Dutch and 0.5% by Australian. There are 18 rides (12 on the ground, 6 off the ground), two on rails, 21 for children, 6 other attractions (ghost train, cinéma, etc.), twelve restaurants, 44 food stands (18 sweet, 26 savoury), seven gaming zones, 15 shooting ranges, 24 games and 46 street vendors.
New for 2023 are: Wilde Maus XXL (VR Experience); Gladiator; Airwolf Sky Control; Big Monster; and Petersburger Schlittenfahrt, with new children's rides including Ballonfahrt and Flying Star. In addition, four new dining options will be available, including Taverne Gambrinus; Die Backfischrutsche; Pornet and The Alchimist. Also, a number of attractions are returning after a number of years' absence: Shale & Roll; Flipper; Wellenflug; Pirates Adventure; Die Grosse Geisterbahn and Nasa Rotor.

Mon 11 Sep @ 22:00: Official Closing - Fireworks (let off from the Pont Grand-Duchesse Charlotte, the Red Bridge) will return to the Schueberfouer this year, celebrating 20 years (of fireworks); access to Limpertsberg will be closed from 20:00 - 23:30.
This year's Schueberfouer poster was designed by Ana Victoria Morales who came second in the 2022 design competition.
For the 11th consecutive year, Bernard-Massard have again launched a "cuvée spéciale" for the Schueberfouer, with €0.50 from each bottle (1,500 produced) going towards charity, this year the Luxembourg Cerebral Palsy charity benefitting.
Parking is restricted around the fair site (paying parking until 01:00 daily, with Saturdays and Sundays from 14:00), with people urged to use the P&R serices and other car parks, as well as the train and tram services.
