Casino 2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains was one of several venues in Luxembourg to organise a special St Patrick’s Day event on Thursday 17 March 2022.
The Purple Lounge restaurant at Casino 2000 was aptly decorated with green lighting, leprechaun hats and shamrocks.
In addition to its usual seasonal food and drinks menu, Purple Lounge’s kitchen was serving fish and chips and Guinness for this special occasion. The food was not quite the same as a traditional portion of British or Irish fish and chips but the guests seemed to enjoy this small taste of home.
Live music by Luxembourg-based Scottish acoustic cover artist Ross Steele added to this festive atmosphere. His covers of songs by well-known Irish bands and artists such as The Cranberries, The Pogues, Snow Patrol, Sinéad O'Connor and Van Morrison had many of the guests singing along between bites and chatter.
The organisers at Casino 2000 expressed their satisfaction with the event which they deemed a success but which they hoped to do "even bigger and better" next year.
