The 20th edition of Luxembourg City's Duck Race will take place this Saturday on the forecourt of Neumünster Abbey (neimënster).
Organised by Round Table Luxembourg, under the high patronage of the City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL), the event will once again see the presence of thousands of plastic ducks ready for their annual race through the Luxembourg capital.
Children's and adults' entertainment, as well as catering, will begin at midday, with around 16,000 ducks being launched into the Alzette for the race at 15:00
This year, the event proceeds will be donated to Development Africa, Pharmaciens Sans Frontières and UNICEF Luxembourg, who will also be present on site to raise awareness among the general public about their work and their objectives.
Those wishing to participate in this event can purchase tickets for €5 on the Duck Race website (www.duckrace.lu). All ducks have a number corresponding to a lottery ticket number. The owners of the winning ducks will received one of several prizes offered by sponsors, such as trups or vouchers; this year's first prize is a Volkswagen Polo car.
Note that on-site access will be carried out in accordance with the Covid-Check regime (possibility of carrying out rapid antigen self-tests on site). Access is free, but limited to 2,000 people.
