Luxembourg startup No Big Deal hosted a city-wide scavenger hunt in the capital on Saturday 4 September 2021.
The Western themed event, #LuxGoldRush, scattered hundreds of boxes labelled “Open Me” across Luxembourg City. Around 150 prizes were up for grabs, including five grand prizes released on schedule throughout the day: a €250 voucher for City Concorde, a Luxair round-trip flight and a real bar of gold, to name but a few.
To get these prizes, participants watched a livestream of the prize location filmed by a drone, which slowly flew higher to show more of the surroundings. Hundreds of people were chasing down the prizes, with the final gold bar prize being found at around 17:00, (fittingly) near the Gëlle Fra ("Golden Lady").
“Everyone was having such a great time walking (or running) around searching for the prizes, exploring the city – this made it a lot of fun for us as well”, commented Nigel Bergstra, one of the startup's co-founders.
“We founded No Big Deal to get people out and enjoying themselves, and this event was a great way to do this for our community”, added fellow co-founder Daniel Klemetz.
The company, which works with brands to incentivise well-being via its app (available in app stores), put the scavenger hunt together with the help of their brand partners, amassing over €4,000 in prizes.
