The Confucius Institute at the University of Luxembourg has announced that it is putting on a "Festins chinois" (Chinese feasts) exhibition at Jacques Schneider Concept Store in Cloche d'Or Shopping Center, from 9 to 30 September 2021.

This exhibition celebrates the great diversity of regional Chinese cuisine. China offers a wide variety of climates and landscapes: deserts, high altitude mountains, fertile plains, tropical forests, meadows... Each region therefore cultivates its own agricultural produce, which give rise to varied tastes and culinary habits.

The “Festins chinois” exhibition invites the public to explore these Chinese cuisines through the historical and cultural traditions attached to them, but also through the eyes of contemporary Chinese artists whose inspiration was nourished by these divine Chinese cuisines.

Represented artists include Siyu Cao, whose pencil sketches depict everyday scenes that highlight the differences and similarities betwees East and West, Lin Jin, an art professor known for his luxuriant and colourful depictions of sensory pleasures in contemporary China, and Wang He, a comic book illustrator and author who opts for traditional watercolour creations.
