The municipality of Strassen has confirm that its annual Stroossefestival street art and music festival is returning this year and will take place on Saturday 11 September 2021 from 15:00.

From its beginnings in 2001, its initiators, including in particular Betty Welter-Gaul, at the time a member of the “Commission de la Culture” working group and today Alderman for Culture, had the ambition to organise for the first time in Strassen a major cultural event that would manage to get people out of their homes. Inspired by the street arts festival in Chassepierre, the Stroossefestival - one of the first of its kind in Luxembourg - has an original programme that unfolds like a real fireworks display: "we have fun, we are bewitched and we discover new wonders around every corner".

The passionate team is reinforced for the occasion by artists and musicians - guitarist and songwriter Greg Lamy has been a part of it from the start - and who puts together an exceptional festival every two years for all ages and all tastes. They have succeeded in making the Stroossefestival an event which is now firmly anchored in the life of the municipality.

After a difficult year 2020 which saw the cancellation of the 10th edition of the Stroossefestival, the event returns this year with a day filled with fun and artistic discoveries at the Stroossefestival 2021, albeit in a smaller format than previously.

Activities on Saturday 11 September start at 15:00 (free admission) with street artists including clowns, circus entertainers, acrobats, tightrope walkers, etc., that make one laugh, that amaze, that arouse curiosity, that take your breath away. As for music, there will be something for all tastes, ranging from musical shows for children to the always popular fanfares or brass bands, including folk music and Luxembourgish song.

A total of 16 different artists and groups offering a total of 26 performances will take place on several sites in the centre of Strassen village, both indoors and outdoors (in case of rain, a "plan B" will be implemented). For gourmet-lovers, the unmissable gourmet village will offer flavours for all tastes.
