The President of the Grevenmacher Festival Committee, Carole Clemens, has confirmed that Luxembourg's biggest wine festival, the grape and wine festival in Grevenmacher, is a fixed date in Luxembourg's event calendar, and will take place this year on Friday 10 - Sunday 12 September 2021.

The coronation of the Luxembourg Wine Queen heralds the start of the autumn season on the Moselle.

Carole Clemens has stated that, in order to maintain this important tradition and to proclaim the new wine queen, the Grevenmacher Festival Committee has worked out a concept for a small festival with concerts in cooperation with the local associations. She said "we want to and we have to continue the tradition. The wine festival is an important emotional and economic factor in the Moselle region". Tickets for this special festival are available online at luxembourgticket.lu.

In normal times, the Luxembourg Wine Queen makes over 70 domestic and foreign appearances and thus fulfils an important marketing function for the wine and tourism industry in the Moselle region and beyond. The “Luxembourg Wine Queen” brand is valued and respected far beyond the country's borders. With this important position, the representative plays a central role in wine marketing and is therefore an economic factor for wine as a cultural asset and for winemakers in Luxembourg.

The “Drauwen-a Wäifest” and the "Weinkönigin" also fulfill another very important function. Many associations rely on the turnover at this traditional festival in order to finance their annual activities. Artists and regional trades orientate themselves after the biggest festival on the Luxembourg Moselle and count on the usual income.

"Above all, we also have to support the Luxembourg winemakers and producers" Carole Clemens added. The Luxembourg Wine Queen and the Wine Festival are therefore not just a festival, but a feeling, a state of mind that embody the bond with the Moselle region and support for this region and the wine culture in Luxembourg.
