Luxembourg's Department of Spatial Planning, Naturpark Our and the municipality of Käerjeng have announced the launch of an open call for exhibitors and workshop leaders for the "Au Goût du Terroir" Esch2022 project.

On Thursday 18 March 2021, Claude Turmes, Luxembourg's Minister for Spatial Planning, visited Naturpark Our to see the progress of various projects which are currently in the planning or implementation phase. This was also an opportunity to officially launch the “Au Goût du Terroir” project.

As part of Esch2022 – European Capital of Culture, Luxembourg's three nature parks, in collaboration with the municipality of Käerjeng and the PRO-SUD inter-municipal union, are organising a unique market under the name “Au Goût du Terroir”. Visitors can expect stands dedicated to regional products, workshops and information on the theme of the production, processing and marketing of regional food products. The emphasis will be on social sustainability and sustainable development.

The aim of the project is to inform consumers as fully and transparently as possible about the origin of food and to promote responsible and social behaviuor. Raising awareness through discovery is the motto. In addition, strong links will be established between exhibitors and workshop leaders in order to promote future joint projects and strengthen the idea of networking. A total of 3,000 m2 will be dedicated for this purpose.

The event will take place in Bascharage (municipality of Käerjeng) from 18 to 20 March 2022. Interested exhibitors and workshop leaders can now register with Naturpark Our until 15 April 2021 via a registration form at www.gout.lu.

The Our and Öewersauer (Upper Sûre) nature parks already played an important role during the last year of culture in Luxembourg in 2007. At that time, they organised the “Meet the Makers” market. The new project “Au Goût du Terroir” will be one of the first major events within the framework of Esch2022 – European Capital of Culture.
