The Ville de Luxembourg has announced that a Call for Applications has been launched in relation to the bi-weekly Wednesday market on the Knuedler in Luxembourg city centre.
In 2020, the 2nd annual bi-weekly market will take place from the beginning of March until the end of August, as well as October. In 2109, a total of seven participants were selected to participater in the new Food Market concept: Asia's Touch - Tasty Street Food, T-Wraps Food Truck, Brasserie Guillaume, Deluxepress sàrl, CafeTree, Tartinerie sàrl and Lëtzeburger.
For the 2nd edition of the “Food Village” commencing in March 2020, the Ville de Luxembourg has launched a new call for applications: interested persons are invited to fill in the application form for participation available on the City's website (www.vdl.lu; deadline 12 January 2020). Anyone who has an existing establishment permit and / or other specific authorisation(s) or approval(s) necessary for the exercise of the activity concerned may apply.
Only the sale of foodstuffs prepared and consumable on the spot as well as drinks, is authorised. Each participant must operate his business every Wednesday during the period indicated, between 09:00 and 14:00.
The Ville de Luxembourg places particular emphasis on respect for the environment and in particular the prevention of waste during events, festivals and gastronomic fairs organised across the municipality. As part of the “Food Village”, the Ville de Luxembourg encourages operators to adopt an eco-responsible approach by choosing seasonal, local products from organic farming or fair trade as well as reusable or low-waste containers for serving food and drinks.
