The Water Management Administration of the Department of the Environment at Luxembourg's Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure has announced that the 2019 bathing season in Luxembourg's rivers and lakes will commence on 1 May.

The following waters will be open for swimming during the 2019 bathing season, which will run from 1 May until 30 September:

  •  Lake Weiswampach (reserved for bathing) in Weiswampach;
  •  Lake Haute-Sûre in the municipalities bordering Boulaide, Esch-sur-Sûre and Lake Haute-Sûre;
  • Remerschen pond (reserved for swimming) in the municipality of Schengen.

During the bathing season, microbiological quality is regularly monitored at various monitoring points.
