The sixth edition of LuxCon will take place on the weekend of Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 April 2019 at Forum Geesseknäppchen in Luxembourg-Merl.
The event, organised by the Science Fiction & Fantasy Society Luxembourg is a convention, based on the English-speaking world’s model, which aims to give the opportunity to fans, geeks and nerds to celebrate their favourite books, shows, games, films, etc. in the realms of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror.
The convention features readings and interviews for literature fans, workshops and discussions for genre aficionados, sales for collectors, artists displaying their works and authors ready to talk about their stories. Food and drink will also be provided by a number of food trucks. In recent years, the event has attracted around 5,000 young and young-of-mind people.
This year will welcome authors Elizabeth Bear (Nebula and Hugo Award winner), Scott Lynch (British Fantasy Award and Prix Imaginales winner) and Judith C. and Christian Vogt (German Fantastic Award and German Roleplaying Game Award winners). Other guests include Aliette de Bodard (Nebula and British Science Fiction Association Awards winner; 2019 double nominee for the Hugo Awards), Adrian Tchaikovsky (Arthur C. Clarke and British Fantasy Award Winner) and Peadar Ò Guílin (European Science Fiction Society Achievement Award Winner, to name but a few. Joining them will be a multitude of local, regional and international guests from the worlds of literature, comics, cosplay and the science fiction and fantasy scene.
