A total of 3,800 people attended the 10th annual Salon de l’Artisanat at the Casino2000 in Mondorf-les-Mains over the weekend, when 95 exhibitions (of which half were new this year) represented no less than 25 trades in the event with the "art & passion" tagline.
The event, held under the patronage of Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture, saw an increase in both exhibitior numbers and attendees. The enhancements implemented over the past three years (routes, exhibitions, demonstration workshops, tastings, etc.) have favoured more targeted meetings between exhibitors and visitors. Sharing with the greatest number of artisans' know-how has made it possible to highlight the richness and diversity of the craft trades of the Greater Region.
In addition, this edition, given the past years has maintained the Audience Award to elect the room "Coup de Coeur" of the show with prizes for the public and for craftsmen worthy of 10 years of this event, become a must, the last weekend of October.
With 28 works in competition for this year's "Coup de Coeur" audience award, the choice was difficult for visitors.
1st prize: Valerie Van den Bergen (Belgium) for her mini-window "Librairie" (www.minivitrines.com)
2nd prize: Sandra Bernard, for the clothing line Pirouette Peanut (France) and the "Noces" outfit of Bamako "(www.facebook.com/sandra.pirouette)
3rd prize: Anne Marie Verron (France), textile sculptures, for her work entitled" Georges Hubert de la Martingale "(www.annemarieverron.com)
The Salon de l'Artisanat "art and passion" returns next year for its 11th edition on 26 & 27 October 2019.
