On Tuesday 2 September 2025, the Luxembourg Tennis Federation (FLT) announced the squad of the SEAT Luxembourg Davis Cup Team for the World Group I tie against Chile, taking place from Saturday 13 to Sunday 14 September 2025 in Santiago de Chile.
Captain Gilles Muller will be without Luxembourg’s top player, Chris Rodesch, (ATP ranking #162), who announced on Instagram: “I won’t be able to represent Luxembourg in the next Davis Cup tie as I’m still focused on recovering after two injuries I’ve been dealing with since July.”
As a result, the Luxembourg line-up features Alex Knaff (ATP ranking #662), Louis Van Herck (ATP ranking #1350), Aaron Gil Garcia (ATP ranking #1461), Raphael Calzi (ATP ranking #1667) and Metti Reiter. According to the FLT, Gilles Kremer has also been sidelined with an injury.
For 26-year-old Louis Van Herck and 17-year-old Metti Reiter, this is their first nomination for the SEAT Luxembourg Davis Cup Team.
The team will be accompanied by Till Salme (coach), Benjamin Chassin (physiotherapist), and Mike Welter and Laure Felgen (CA).
On the other side, according to the Chile Tennis Federation, the country’s two highest-ranked players will not take part in the tie against Luxembourg: Nicolás Jarry (ATP ranking #102) cited family matters, whilst Alejandro Tabilo (ATP ranking #122) prioritised his ATP schedule.
The hosts’ squad, led by captain Nicolás Massú, includes Cristian Garín (ATP ranking #126), Tomás Barrios Vera (ATP ranking #134), Matías Soto (ATP ranking #272), Daniel Núñez (ATP ranking #773) and Diego Fernández (ATP ranking #1068). This will be the first time in history that the two countries meet in a Davis Cup tie.
