On Thursday 6 March 2025, the Davis Cup draw took place, revealing the next opponent for the SEAT Lëtzebuerg (Luxembourg) Davis Cup Team in the World Group I match-up.

The men’s national tennis team led by Gilles Muller, following their victory over Lithuania in the Davis Cup World Group I Play-Off in early February 2025, will now travel away to face Chile. “They have very good players. They have Christian Garin who's a former top 50 player, maybe even top 30. They have a great captain, Nicolas Massu, who won the Olympic Gold medal. […] I mean, they're heavy favourites, there's no doubt about that. So yeah, again, it's one of the toughest draws that was possible away, very far away in South America. And then also to play against a tough team like that, it's not going to be easy,” Gilles Muller shared his assessment of Luxembourg's next opponent with Chronicle.lu.

Chile competed in the Davis Cup Qualifiers First Round in February 2025, facing Belgium away and losing 1-3. However, the exact playing surface for the upcoming tie remains unknown, as the hosts have several months to decide on the venue for the match.

I think it's going to be a nice experience. Again, we played in Colombia a year and a half ago, and it was a very nice experience apart from the result. […] It's going to be interesting for the moment. Again, we don't know too much where they're going to play, on what surface, which players are going to play. They have until I think 24 June [2025] to decide which city they're going to play and which surface. So at the moment, we don't have that much information. So the only thing we know is that it's in Chile, which is not what we were hoping for, to be honest. But it is what it is and we can't do anything about it,” added the captain.

The matches are set to take place on either 12-13 September 2025 or 13-14 September 2025.
