The Innside by Meliã Padel Cup started yesterday, Friday 23 August 2024, at the CK Sportcenter in Kockelscheier.
The draw for groups had been made on Thursday evening, with Luxembourg I to face Saarland and Moldova in Group A, and Luxembourg II to face Iceland and Andorra in Group B.
Organised by the Luxembourg Tennis Federation, the Innside by Meliã Padel Cup is the first international such Padel tournament held in Luxembourg and the first appearance/participation of the Luxembourg national team.
Friday Results
Group A:
- Luxembourg I won 2-0 against Moldova
- Luxembourg I won 2-0 against Saarland
- Moldova won 2-0 against Saarland
Group B:
- Iceland won 2-0 against Luxembourg II
- Andorra won 2-0 against Luxembourg II
- Andorra won 2-1 against Iceland.
Today, Saturday, sees Luxembourg I play Iceland, and Andorra play Moldova in the semi-finals, with Luxembourg II playing Saarland in a consolation match, before the third place play-off and then the final.
