Luxembourgish telecom operator Tango has announced that it is offering one month of free calls to its clients who are healthcare workers or small businesses which have been impacted by the second wave of COVID-19 infections and related restrictions.

The second wave has been a blow to medical staff who have had to redouble their efforts, as well as for small businesses which have to suspend their activities and restaurants and cafes forced to close again in light of the new government restrictions aimed at limiting the spread of coronavirus in Luxembourg.

Tango is thus offering its services free of charge to small businesses struggling to make ends meet during the partial lockdown period, i.e. one month of invoicing. The offer includes mobile phone, landline or internet bills and telephone exchange solutions. All impacted Tango client companies can apply for this offer online.

In addition, to support and ensure the mobility of medical staff, Tango is offering 10GB of mobile data to all workers in this sector. All customers concerned with a private Tango subscription can apply for this offer online.

The offer will be valid for 31 days and can be used in Luxembourg as well as in Europe, taking into account the strong presence of cross-border workers in the healthcare sector.

Luis Camara, Chief Consumer Market Officer at Tango, commented: “We were keen to be able to support the people who fight daily against COVID as well as all these small structures which participate so well in the diversity of the country. Each of them contributes, in their own way, to our daily wellbeing and it was important for us to honour them".
