Ookla, a company providing internet speed testing and network diagnostics services, recently released its H1 2025 Speedtest Connectivity Report analysing the state of Luxembourg’s mobile and fixed networks.

Results are based on Speedtest data collected during the period from January to June 2025. According to Ookla, to show a full picture of network performance in each market, reports are informed by millions of daily consumer-initiated tests taken on Speedtest, along with quality of experience (QoE) metrics that offer insight into the daily connected activities that matter most to end-users.

POST was the fastest mobile provider in Luxembourg during the first half of 2025, across all technologies combined and also specifically for 5G. It recorded a median 5G download speed of 201.7 Mbps and an upload speed of 18.81 Mbps.

Orange was the fastest Internet service provider (ISP) in Luxembourg during the first half of 2025, with a median download speed of 318.58 Mbps, ahead of next placed Visual Online, which recorded 215.25 Mbps and Eltrona with 214.4 Mbps. Orange also led the market on median upload speed, with 217.84 Mbps, and recorded a latency of 19 ms.

The report revealed that among the most populous areas in Luxembourg, Bertrange recorded the fastest median mobile download speed of 203.62 Mbps, while Pétange outpaced the other cities to record the fastest median fixed download speed, with 269.26 Mbps. Differdange was second, followed by Hesperange in third place. At the other end of the scale, Niederanven had the slowest median fixed download speed at 128.5 Mbps, followed by Strassen and Bertrange. Orange was the fastest provider across the three areas.
