Luxembourg's national statistics portal, STATEC, has announced it launched its annual survey on household income and living conditions (EU-SILC), which will take place until 15 September 2024.

The survey on household income and living conditions follows the evolution of income and living conditions of Luxembourg’s population, year after year. It is therefore a valuable source to help implement policies to combat poverty, inequality and social exclusion in Luxembourg, STATEC added.

In 2024, 15,900 households are randomly selected from the National Registry of Natural Persons (RNPP) to respond to the questionnaire, for four consecutive years. The questionnaire consists of questions on household composition, housing, income, work, well-being, health and participation in social life. Thanks to these numerous households, it is possible to derive a picture of the living situation of the population and also to follow their evolution throughout several years, STATEC noted.

Conducted across all European Union countries, the EU-SILC survey enables the comparison of living conditions among different households at the European level.
