The City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) has donated nineteen generators to the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.

On Tuesday 10 January 2023, the City of Luxembourg, represented by Mayor Lydie Polfer and aldermen Maurice Bauer, Patrick Goldschmidt and Laurent Mosar, in the presence of Luxembourg's Honorary Consul to Ukraine, Claude Radoux, proceeded with the donation of nineteen generators providing a total of 630 kVA to Kyiv, which will subsequently take care of dispatching the machines to the places where they are most needed.

With this gesture, the City of Luxembourg said that it wished to encourage the Ukrainian people in these difficult times by helping to alleviate the serious energy situation in Ukraine. Upon their arrival in Ukraine, the generators will help ensure the proper functioning of critical infrastructure such as hospitals when the electricity supply has been compromised following Russian attacks.
