On Tuesday evening, Luxembourg's Minister of Sustainable Development an dInfrastructures, and Romain Schneider, Minitser of Sports, visited the premises of the Aéro-Sport flight club and the Luxembourg Flight Training Academy (EFTA) in Findel.

As well as formally opening the new premises of the flight club and EFTA, the two ministers then proceeded to present the awards to club members for their achievements over the past year in general and sport aviation.

- Trophy of the Ministry of Transport: (1) Jene Carol / Susan Fraser (48 points); (2) Marco Felten / Ali Heister (40 points); (3) Pierre Musman / Caroline Schmitz (32 points)

- Trophy of the Minister of Sports: (1) Marco Felten / Ali Heister / Karin Hulskes (40 points); (2) Jene Carol / Susan Fraser (28 points)

In addition to the Ministers, the attendance included Paul Helminger, Chairman of Cargolux, various foreign ambassadors to Luxembourg, local mayors and representatives of the local business community.

The Ministry of Sport provides the club with a grant for the trophies; between 1950 and the end of the 1980s the Ministry also finacially supported the Union of the Luxembourg Pilots (UPL) to ensourage members obtain their PPL (private pilot licence).

In the 3 rallys organised last year, 35 Luxembourg pilots participated, both male and female; also, two teams participated internationally, in Cagnac and in Jersey.
