On Wednesday 20 May 2026, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) announced a second recall of PROfutura 1 and PROfutura 2 (infant formula) from the Nutrilon brand.

The ALVA has advised consumers not to use the products concerned due to the possible presence of cereulide, a toxin produced by the microorganism Bacillus cereus.

ALVA explained that this infant formula was previously recalled in February 2026 and then put back on the market following an error in the distribution chain, resulting in the sale of non-compliant products.

The following products have been recalled:

⁃ Nutrilon: “Profutura Duobiotik 1”, 800 g; use by date: 4 June 2027; Lot number: 20270604

⁃ Nutrilon: “Profutura Duobiotik 2”, 800 g; use by date: 12 May 2027; Lot number: 20270512

According to the ALVA, the product may have been distributed at various points of sale in Luxembourg.

Consumers who have purchased the affected products are strongly advised not to use them and to return them to the place of purchase.
