On Thursday 17 April 2025, the City of Luxembourg announced that a Pop-up store located at 40 rue Philippe II has become available, and that they opened a Call for Applications for new tenants.
The new temporary store premises have a surface area of 47 m² and is envisaged to start in June, as part of its "pop-up stores" project
Applications open until 9 May 2025
From now until 9 May 2025, interested entrepreneurs, retailers and startups can submit their applications using the form available on the City of Luxembourg website (https://www.vdl.lu/en/working/starting-a-business/rent-a-pop-store). Only complete applications, including a form and project description, will be considered. Selection criteria include applicant availability and the originality and quality of the proposed concepts.
Offers in the fields of clothing, accessories and jewellery, home furnishings, services and leisure, care and beauty, art, fashion and photography, and packaged dry food are permitted. The premises cannot be used as a restaurant or a brasserie.
The minimum rental period is one month and the maximum is six months; extensions of up to three months are possible depending on space availability. The monthly rent ranges from €650 to €2,250. A general flat rate for utilities is added to the rent.
The City of Luxembourg's "Pop-Up Stores" Project
By providing short-term rentals for retail space, the City of Luxembourg offers designers, entrepreneurs and startups the opportunity to test a new product, service or concept. The "pop-up store" concept serves as a springboard for tenants, who can enjoy an initial experience in a physical store before launching a permanent business. Furthermore, pop-up stores contribute to creating a rich retail offering and attracting a diverse audience.
