POST Luxembourg has announced the exceptional closure of its points of sale and the suspension of its postal service this Friday 10 April 2020.

In a statement released this afternoon, POST explained that, as part of the state of emergency declared in response to COVID-19 (coronaviurs), postal and telecommunications services as well as payment systems have been recognised as "essential activities for the maintenance of vital interests of the population and the country". The Group added that it is in this context that POST employees have demonstrated exceptional commitment at all levels, particularly employees who are in the field and in daily contact with customers, for the past three weeks.

Taking into consideration the effort required by this commitment, POST Luxembourg has decided to close its points of sale (post offices, POST spaces and telecom points of sale) on Friday 10 April 2020. Post distribution will also be suspended that day, in agreement with the Luxembourg Institute for Regulation (ILR). According to the Group, this rest day is a way to thank its employees.

Newspaper distribution, parcel deliveries, breakdown services and urgent technical interventions will be ensured and the Telecom Call Center will remain accessible.
