The British-Luxembourg Society has announced an event dedicated to Robert Baden-Powell, which will take place on Tuesday 3 March 2026 at 18:30 on the University of Luxembourg’s Limpertsberg Campus.

Organised in conjunction with Conférence St Yves, Lëtzebuerger Guiden a Scouten and the University of Luxembourg, the event will explore the legacy of Robert Baden-Powell and the foundations of scouting. The event will be held in French.

The programme will feature an introduction by Joanne Olivier, British Ambassadorto Luxembourg. Philippe Maxence, author of Baden-Powell (Perrin, 2016) and Olav Baden-Powell (Artège, 2020), will deliver a presentation titled “L’ADN du Scoutisme avec Robert et Olav Baden-Powell” (The DNA of Scouting with Robert and Olav Baden-Powell). Assistant Professor Jean-Marie Weber, a member of the “Archives & Recherche” group of the Lëtzebuerger Guiden a Scouten, will then speak on “Baden-Powell et le Luxembourg: Héritage et Avenir” (Baden-Powell and Luxembourg: Heritage and Future).

Robert Baden-Powell was a British army officer who founded the scouting movement in 1907.
