
The Rugby Club Luxembourg (RCL) has announced that RCL Girlz rugby players (U14 to U18) will participate in demonstration Rugby 7s matches, during the upcoming Rugby XV Men’s Trophy fixtures against Sweden and Poland.
In a press release, RCL stated that the demonstrations, aimed at showcasing the talent of female rugby players, will take place during half-time at the Men’s Trophy Luxembourg-Sweden fixture on Saturday 29 March 2025 and at the Luxembourg-Poland fixture on Saturday 5 April 2025.
According to the press release, the players will represent the newly launched RCL Girlz team, accompanied by the Walferdange Ladies team. This event is expected to provide an opportunity to highlight the rising interest and participation of young female athletes in rugby, showcasing the fun and excitement of the sport while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship and female empowerment.
RCL explained that with increasing numbers of girls entering the rugby field, the demonstration matches will be a chance to celebrate their achievements and offer a platform for these young athletes to display their skills and passion for rugby.
Luxembourg’s men’s rugby team plays Sweden on Saturday 29 March 2025 and Poland on Saturday 5 April 2025. Both matches will be held at the Stade de Luxembourg in Luxembourg-Gasperich at 18:00.
