The Cookie Jar Complot, a local Luxembourgish instrumental post- and math-rock band, has announced the launch of its new extended play (EP) album, Lobster Knife Fight, set to be released digitally on Friday 27 October 2023, followed by a vinyl release on Friday 10 November 2023 at 19:00 at the Rotondes in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie.

On 10 November, the band’s EP will be celebrated during a vinyl release party, which also feature the band No Metal In This Battle. This evening will also mark the latter’s new vinyl release debut. In addition to the two bands, certain surprise guests from the Luxembourg music scene are expected to make an appearance on the evening.

The songwriting duo Sven Schmeler and Gilles Glesener have been behind this endeavour since 2020, with Philipp Colling on bass and Miko Buraczyk on guitar during live performances. The Cookie Jar Complot has stated that it draws creative inspiration from bands such as And So I Watch You from Afar, Mutiny on the Bounty and Covet.

The band has so far performed at various large live festivals such as USINA, Congés Annulés, Fête de la Musique, Out of the Crowd and TCJC. They have had 30 shows in two years, 4,500 streams in a month for their single "Birds Are a Lie" and have amassed 20,000 views for their self-produced live sessions on YouTube.

Tickets are priced at €9 for presale and €10 at the door, and they can be acquired through the Rotondes website.
