The real estate ads site Immotop.lu has joined forces with the Chambre Immobilière (real estate chamber) to guarantee the professionalism of real estate agencies in Luxembourg.

Immotop.lu now offers a clearer display of real estate agencies that are members of the Chambre immobilière du Grand-duché de Luxembourg (CIGDL), which follows a common code of ethics. The aim of this partnership is to set up a policy to support “professional” practices in the real estate sector in Luxembourg. Through this partnership, Jean-Paul Scheuren, President of the CIGDL, and Serge Uschkaloff, Managing Director of Immotop.lu, are aiming for greater transparency regarding the “good” and “bad” practices of certain professionals.

The two partners undertake to assist each other in providing training for real estate professionals. For its part, Immotop.lu will display the logo of the CIGDL on advertisements as well as on the pages of member real estate agencies. A search option for CIGDL member agencies will also be available in the directory of agencies listed by Immotop.lu.

According to Jean-Paul Scheuren: “By joining forces with the Chambre Immobilière, real estate portals are showing their desire to recognise a need for recognition of good practices linked to the real estate sector which suffers from the proliferation of new agencies and the image caused by untrained and misguided agents".

Immotop.lu added: "Our role is in no way to make a value judgement, nor to select the agencies that we consider professional or not. We simply need to be able to guarantee as much as possible to our internet users a healthy and secure property search. Better informing our users about the practices of their interlocutors is essential”.

This collaboration takes effect today, Monday 7 December 2020.
