On the morning of Thursday 4 April 2024, Luxembourg's national railway company, the CFL, reported disruptions to rail traffic on line 60.
Due to a major deployment of the emergency services near Niederkorn, trains were disrupted on Thursday morning between Pétange and Esch-sur-Alzette (in both directions).
The CFL set up a replacement bus service running between Pétange and Esch-sur-Alzette (serving all stops except Belval-Rédange).
RE trains (Luxembourg - Rodange via Esch-sur-Alzette) were cancelled in both directions. The CFL noted that RB trains were still running from Esch-sur-Alzette to Luxembourg with stops in Esch-sur-Alzette, Schifflange, Noertzange, Bettembourg, Berchem, Howald and Luxembourg City in both directions.
According to the CFL, the usual train service is expected to gradually resume from 10:20 on Thursday. For further information on train disruptions, visit https://www.cfl.lu/en-gb/disturbances.
