12 New Mayors, 27 Aldermen & Alderwomen Sworn In on Monday

Another round of swearing-in ceremonies for Luxembourg's newly appointed mayors and aldermen/alderwomen, following the recent municipal (local) elections, took place on Monday 10 July 2023.

On Monday, Luxembourg's Minister for Home Affairs, Taina Bofferding, swore in the colleges of mayors and aldermen/alderwomen of the municipalities of Bettendorf, Dalheim, Erpeldange-sur-Sûre, Feulen, Heffingen, Lac de la Haute-Sûre, Mertzig, Pétange, Rambrouch, Schifflange, Weiswampach and Wincrange.

At 14:00, twelve mayors and 27 aldermen/alderwomen took the new oath prescribed by Article 6 of the amended municipal law of 13 December 1988 in front of Minister Bofferding: "I swear to observe the Constitution and the laws and to fulfil my function with integrity, exactitude and impartiality."

Bettendorf: Patrick Mergen, mayor; Andy Derneden, alderman; Lucien Kurtisi, alderman.

Dalheim: Romain Kill, mayor; René Ernst, alderman; Peggy Olinger, alderwoman.

Erpeldange-sur-Sûre: Claude Gleis, mayor; Léa Schaeffer, alderwoman; Frank Kuffer, alderman.

Feulen: Fernand Mergen, mayor; Alain Hansen, alderman; Flore Schank, alderwoman.

Heffingen: Jérôme Seiler, mayor; Camille Feltes, alderman; Christian D'Harcour, alderman.

Lac de la Haute-Sûre: Marco Koeune, mayor; Francis Schon, alderman; Carole Bück, alderwoman.

Mertzig: Mike Poiré, mayor; Stefano D'Agostino, alderman; Lex Schwind, alderman.

Pétange: Jean-Marie Halsdorf, mayor; Romain Mertzig, alderman; André Martins Dias, alderman; Guy Brecht, alderman; Maria Agostino, alderwoman.
