On Thursday 3 March 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of the Interior has announced the swearing-in of the new mayor and new aldermen of the municipality of Bertrange, located in western Luxembourg.
By Grand-Ducal decree of 5 February 2022, Monique Smit-Thijs was appointed the new mayor of the municipality of Bertrange.
By ministerial decrees of 3 March 2022, Frank Demuyser and Youri De Smet were appointed aldermen for the municipality.
On Thursday afternoon, the new appointees took the following oath, as prescribed by the relevant municipal law, in the presence of Luxembourg's Minister of the Interior, Taina Bofferding:
"I swear loyalty to the Grand Duke, to observe the Constitution and the laws of the country, and to fulfil with zeal, accuracy, integrity and impartiality the functions entrusted to me".
